Lilly is a very energetic mouse who loves school very much and her new teacher very much, it almost borders on obsession.  Every illustration and even the layouts of the pages emphasize here personality.  Then she gets a new purple plastic purse and some other goodies and she is so excited she is just about to bust, but the teacher keeps telling her to wait.  She doesn’t make it though and interrupts to display her new items.  The teacher takes them away and she draws a mean picture and leaves it at his desk, but then at the end of the day when he gives her things back he has given her a nice note and some snacks to make her feel better.  She feels terrible and the whole family helps her apologize.  It’s a very cute book that could show a young child a lot about what is expected at school.  I personally have never connected very well to Lilly but I know many a girl that loves her and it even has it’s own stage production that is quite fun.
