This time you start out outside of Tortall following the tale of Veralidaine Sarrasri, Daine. Alanna is still around, but years have past. Daine is a girl with an affinitity for a bow, and for animals. She has what is called wild magic that allows her to communicate with animals both mortal and immortal. In a time where mythical creatures are a very real part of reality her skills are of great value. Daine goes from an orphan cut off from humanity to a rising young mage with plenty of friends. And yes I did tear up at the end.
